Beyond Technique: The Construction of the Gaze
Photographic technique is a vocabulary accessible to everyone, but knowing the words isn’t enough to write a poem. The advanced training I offer here differs sharply from traditional education: it is not a school, but an ecosystem of visual exploration dedicated to those who wish to elevate their photography from mere execution to an authorial language.
My programs are built around three fundamental pillars, designed to break down old habits and shape a new vision.
The Grammar of Vision
An in-depth analysis of the architecture of the image. We will work on managing negative space, giving weight to visual pauses, and understanding “air” not as wasted space, but as a relational presence that defines and caresses the subject. This is the fundamental step in learning to subtract, allowing the essence of photography to breathe.
Project Architecture
The transition from a single photograph to a complex narrative. Crafting a solid and coherent visual story by managing the rhythm of the sequence, making ruthless selections of shots, and arriving at a final synthesis. From a fragmented idea to the creation of a body of work for publication or exhibition.
Identity and Voice (Individual Journeys)
Photography is an act of inner exploration. This module is designed strictly as a private and direct exchange. A tailored dialogue in which we work together to bring out, decode, and refine your visual signature. A guided journey to help you stop looking through the camera and start looking through yourself.
The Crack and the Light: Masterclass in Contemporary Portraiture in Rome
October 24–25, 2026
A two-day immersive experience dedicated to artistic portraiture and minimalist editorial aesthetics. Designed for photographers who wish to elevate their vision, this masterclass combines a solid foundation in theory and digital post-production with on-location photo shoots in Rome. The goal is to deconstruct the clichés of traditional photography and embrace a minimalist, narrative approach. We’ll explore the organic use of natural light, the dramatic use of shadows and architectural volumes, subject direction, and modern color-grading techniques to bring out texture and painterly drama in every shot. A course designed to transform technique into vision.
The first day of theory will be held on Zoom; the second day will take place outdoors in Rome.
A review will take place a couple of months from now.
The Basics (On-Demand Classes)
Before enrolling in the Authorial Mentorship program, you must have a solid, instinctive grasp of the medium. For those who need to build this foundation, I rarely offer small introductory classes—and only upon request—that take a strictly unconventional approach.
Here, technique is never an end in itself. In portraiture, one does not learn to position a light, but to construct meaning: the subject ceases to be a passive element and becomes a co-creator of the vision, giving weight to their story. Street photography abandons the instinct of the hunt to embrace the art of capturing: it cultivates the courage to lose oneself in the flow without the obsession for control, a limitation that always ends up exacting a very high price from the image.

Professional Mentorship (Annual Program)
Turning an artistic vision into a career requires structure, discipline, and deep self-awareness. It’s not enough to simply produce excellent images; you need to build an ecosystem capable of showcasing, protecting, and supporting them in the marketplace.
This program is a year-long, immersive experience designed to build the foundation of your career from the ground up or to reposition an existing business toward a different market segment. We’ll work on visual identity, positioning, narrative structure, market understanding, communication strategies, and client management.
To ensure personalized attention and genuine support, I review and accept a maximum of three applications per year.
